Annual workshop that Charley Brentnall and I run at the fantastic Dartmoor Arts Week hosted by Pete and Charlotte Randall-Page. It’s kind of Studio in the Woods, but more ambitious as it’s held over a week. These 2 structures were constructed over consecutive years – the first, a structure designed to allow you to sit suspended over the river in a patch of sunlight, the second, a half-bridge designed to allow occupants of the valley access to winter sun on the 21st December. It was really doing this workshop that got me so interested in how the process of construction can shape the actual architecture.
